Happy Graduation Sarah!!!

Sarah was one of the 711 students that graduated from Coppell High School on June 5. She is looking forward to studying at the University of North Texas in the fall: Education and Vocal Performance.
We wish all her all the very best. And we can't believe how quickly her school years have flown by.

July 2013: England Trip

Had another great trip to England in the summer.

Weather was good, so we spent time at the beach and on the moors.

It was Lionel's 80th Birthday, so we threw a party to celebrate.

July 2010: England trip

We spent much of July in England, as usual. The weather was good enough to allow us several days out on Dartmoor and at the beach, including our favourite, Polzeath. A particular highlight for the girls this year was a horse riding session on the moor.

June 2010: School graduation and annual England trip

In June the girls graduated from their classes. This was a landmark year for both of them, Emily is moving from Elementary School to Middle School, and Sarah is moving from Middle School to High School. With graduation over the girls left for their annual summer vacation in England, with Lionel and Phyllis (Nana and Granddad). Leaving Rob with the immense responsibility of looking after Gabby ... and going to work.

May 2010: Vegas, Willy Wonka, Flowers and Ducks

In May Rob took a business trip to Las Vegas, Sarah played an Oompa Loompa in her school's rendition of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the flowers continued to bloom and a pair of ducks decided to make their home, with a nest of eggs, in our back garden.

April 2010: Tour Dallas and more flowers

April saw Rob and Sarah participating in the annual Tour Dallas cycle ride. Emily wasn't feeling well that weekend so Sarah's friend Maddie joined us instead.

March 2010: Spring flowers

The weather warmed up and Susan did a terrific job bringing the garden back to life.

March 2010: Alabama and Florida trip

We took a short trip during Spring Break to Mobile, Alabama to see the Gulf Islands and beaches. Along the way we visited Mobile's Battleship Memorial Park, home of Second World War vessels USS Alabama and USS Drum (a submarine). Fascinating stuff, for Rob at least. That, and the ferry ride across Mobile Bay from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island. The girls enjoyed shell hunting on the Alabama and Florida beaches far more. We were happily surprised to see how few people were there, given this was spring break. We were lucky too - this was just a month before BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

February 2010: Concerts and Snow

Sarah sang in North Texas Choir Regionals, and Texas received more snow than we'd seen here in years.

January 2010: Gabby

January was cold, so the girls just took a bunch of pictures indoors.

April 2009: Tour Dallas!

Emily, Sarah and Rob completed Tour Dallas 2009 last weekend, a 20 mile cycle ride around downtown, and suburban Dallas. The weather was perfect (slightly warmer than last year), the crowds were huge, the crashes were few, and the legs were a little worn at the end, but everyone made it around, with plenty of time to enjoy free pizza and a photo shoot with Bikin' Mike, the organizer of the whole event. We were also fortunate to meet Rob Luna at the start after he'd scouted out the best parking for us, and just as he left to join the 30-milers at their start position Sandra showed up with Mike and Allie! We saw plenty of all 3 of them over the next 3 hours, as we meandered along at roughly the same pace, but we never saw Rob L again - he was long gone, and completed his 30 miles in a little over 90 minutes - an excellent pace!
